February 2019 Newsletter

QUOTE OF THE MONTH: If you have not renewed your membership, your access to the club will end March 01, 2019.  Ted Gacek

PRESIDENT- Hal DeBoer The membership continues to grow at an
extraordinary rate. We welcomed over 70 new members during the
month of January. The question was raised about the club becoming
busy and I decided to check the numbers. We had over 1000 vehicles
ass through the gate during the month of January. The Indoor Pistol
ange appears to be very popular this time of year, with 395 members
using the range during the month. The daily average was approximately 15 members per day. There was no apparent time when the range was
busy. The answer to the question would be that the club is still not real
busy. We will continue to monitor the usage of the facilities.
The Executive Committee, as the managing body of the Corporation,
recently established requirements for all Leagues, Events, Matches,
Competitions and Tournaments, hereinafter referred to collectively as
“Events”, to ensure fair play. The following are the requirements:
a. All required fees and contributions by Members and non-members
shall be approved by the Executive Committee prior to the
commencement of the Events;
b. All proposed prizes and purses and the proposed distribution of the
same shall be approved by the Executive Committee prior to the
commencement of the Events;

c. All Events are prohibited from requiring mandatory Members and
non-members contributions for prizes, purses, meals, etc. This provision shall be conspicuously published and provided to the members and
non-members prior to their registration for the Event;

d. All required fees and contributions by Members and non-members,
proposed prizes and purses and the proposed distribution of the same,

shall be conspicuously published and provided to the members and
non-members prior to their registration for the Event;

e. All Events are prohibiting from establishing discriminating classes,
groups, categories, etc. This will include age, sex, gender etc. based
classes. Discrimination refers to the treatment or consideration of, or
making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on
the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs
rather than on individual merit. This provision shall be conspicuously
published and provided to the members and non-members prior to
their registration for the Event;

f. All prizes and purses shall be paid from funds collected from within
any established class, group, category, etc. This provision shall be
conspicuously published and provided to the members and
non-members prior to their registration for the Event;

g. No member of the Corporation or any other Not for Profit corporation associated with the Events, will receive pecuniary gain, incidental or
otherwise, unless properly conducted as an Employer/Employee
relationship or as an independent contractor in accordance with the
laws and regulations of the Federal government and the State of New
York.
Remember to be Safe and have Fun.

PISTOL: Kevin Johnston ▪ As a reminder, the “Red line” is the minimum shooting distance on the indoor range.   ▪ When kneeling or sitting, the shooting angle is towards the
ceiling when the target is above the “Red line”. Two overhead tracks
had to be repaired due to bullet damage. Please be extra cautious when kneeling or sitting.

BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS: Kurt Field With the back and forth temperature changes, please be careful of ice when
walking around the club. A few observations I have noticed, or a club member has reported at the club that might get a member into trouble!

1)Rifle Range- a) Do not put a target on the metal pipes at the 100 yards line, these are for league use. b) A few minutes after legal sunset is
ill a violation, watch your time. c) No rapid firing, 2 seconds between shots (why cut it close), take your time and acquire your target for another precise shot. d) NO handling of a firearm when the lights are
ON, that includes adjusting the scope. Major Safety Violation.

2)Shotgun – a) When your done shooting be sure to push the on/off
switch to off on the control box to release the tension on the machine. b) When you are done shooting please refill the carousel with clay
birds, extra cases are under clubhouse pavilion.

3)Outdoor Pistol –
a) Stop shooting the wooden cross boards, no reason
for the target to be that high on the backer board.

b) Be careful of rapid firing here also, some are cutting it close.
Pick up your brass, new members and visitors have commented on
how nice it looks, let’s keep it PREMIER.

4)Indoor Pistol- a) Target must go down to the RED line on the floor (21′) or beyond, NOTHING before the line.

b) Too many rounds are hitting the steel at the ceiling and the track,
you must shoot horizontal or level with your gun. Do not angle the
gun up to the target, get another target arm from the cabinet, clip it on, target and gun are level.

c) No shotshell Ammo. Shooting a Judge with 410 shot will hurt
someone or break something, DON’T do it.

d) Don’t be shooting when your Guest is shooting, if they screw up it’s your membership on the line.
5)General –
a) When you bring a Guest onto the property and don’t sign them in or pay PRIOR to them shooting, YOU are in violation. Remember we
police each other, if you see something say something NICELY. These are just some of the reoccurring problems that a Director or a member has
noticed or taken care of verbally, I don’t want to see anybody lose their membership, if there is doubt ask the question.
