Founded in 1949, The Camillus Sportsmen’s Club has been in operation for more than 60 years. The Club is a private, non-profit, membership operated organization dedicated to supporting shooting sports activities and conservation efforts in the Central New York region. The Club has multiple range facilities for handgun, rifle, shotgun and archery.

Club Membership is a family membership, extending to age 18 for children. The Club membership period is Calendar year and all members have access to the clubhouse and grounds
Seniors are offered membership at ½ the standard rate. There are no set Club operating hours, outside shooting may begin at 9:00 AM any day and extends to legal sunset. These times are strictly enforced. The Club indoor range is available at all hours.
The Club offers year round organized league activities in rifle, handgun, and shotgun disciplines. Camillus Trap teams compete against other Central New York clubs in both summer and winter leagues. Additionally, The Club holds nationally registered competitions in IBS Center Fire Benchrest, IR 50/50 Rim Fire Benchrest, NRA High Power Rifle, CMP Vintage Rifle, and Winter Skeet League.
The Club is located on 100 acres of land approximately 6 miles west of Syracuse NY and borders the now abandoned improved Erie Canal between Camillus and Warners NY.
The original Erie Canal (Clinton’s Ditch) passed directly through the Club grounds and remnants of this canal can still be seen on club property.
The access road to the Club is actually a portion of the improved Erie Canal Towpath and begins at Devoe Road directly across from the Camillus Erie Canal Park.
This road is a shared road with the NYS Erie Canal Bicycle and Hiking Trail.
The Clubhouse and restrooms are handicapped accessible. A kitchen facility and picnic pavilion support many year round Club activities.
A 50 foot clubhouse attached, indoor pistol and rim fire rifle range offers eight shooting stations.
An adjacent building serves as a meeting/classroom for Courses, CMP Clinics, and is a reloading area for bench rest league shooters.
Lighted parking areas offer convenient clubhouse access.
Member activated Trap and Skeet activities are offered with voice release systems and large capacity automatic clay target throwing machines.
Shotgun Sports Are supported by:
High Power and Centerfire Benchrest Rifle Shooting
Is supported with an outdoor range extending to 300 meters. A bermed pit area at 300 yards protects 20 target carriers and is used for leagues, NRA and CMP registered competitions, and general membership activities.
Target boards at 50, 100, 200, and 300 yards are provided for paper target placement. There are also metal targets at 200 yards and 300 meters. The high power range has a covered shooter area with 46 bench rest style benches. In general any firearm can be used on the High Power Range and shooters may drive to each target placement yardage using a convenient access path.
Handgun Shooting
Is supported with an outdoor range extending to 100 yards. This outdoor range offers covered 20 shooting stations and has a metallic ‘swinger’ target plus a paper target board set at 7, 10, 25, 50, 75 and 100 yards. The outdoor range allows for handguns firing most types of bullets (Exceptions are tracer and armor piercing bullets) and only rimfire rifles.
The Club also has a 50 foot indoor range with eight shooting stations. The indoor range allows handguns, and center fire handguns firing most types of bullets. (Exceptions are tracer and armor piercing bullets) This range is available for member use 24 hours a day.
A Dedicated Archery Range
Is available near the entrance of the club, with bale, 3D, and animal targets set up at various distances.
There is also a elevated platform for tree-stand practice and generous space for practicing different positions and angles. Archery leagues and competitions are also in the works!

Camillus Sportsmens Club is a premier facility for shooting sports in Central New York. Our facilities are some of the best around, with a 330yd rifle range, 11 trap and skeet fields, outdoor pistol and low-power rifle range, indoor pistol range, and accessible clubhouse facilities. We pride ourselves on our outstanding facilities, competitions, leagues, safety and responsible firearm handling, and member events. Our membership is by application submission. You can come to a quarterly membership meeting. The meeting dates for 2022 are February 9th, May 11th, August 10th, and November 9th. Additionally, the membership crew is at the club on the second Saturday of the month from 9 am to noon. You can join on these days and get your questions answered.
